End of the Awana Season

This will be our last Awana night of the year, except for the Grand Prix Open in Winnipeg.  (see below)  Next week it is Spring Break and the week after that is Good Friday.  So tonight is it!

We've had some fun times this year; our Grand Prix races last week were very fun, with all the cars doing very well.  Zoo Night, the Christmas concert, and Flash Light Night were some of the special events we had during this season.

I'd like to thank the Parents, Grand Parents, neighbours, etc who committed to bringing the Clubbers to Awana this past year, and for coming on special nights to watch them.  I'd also like to thank my Leaders, who give up a fair piece of their free time to plan and run their portions of the Awana program.

Grand Prix Open Details

For those who won at our Grand Prix last week in either speed or design (first, second, third and fourth) those people are invited to compete at the Grand Prix Open in Winnipeg, April 14th (Saturday).

The races will be held at Victory Baptist Church, which is on 3428 Portage Ave, only about 5 minutes inside the city on this (west) end.  Registration is at 11:30am, with races starting at 1:00pm.  They will have a canteen, and each car entered to compete will cost you $6.00.  There are also door prizes.

If you did not win, but would like to go check it out, you're also welcome.  I don't think they charge spectators anything.

Racers, please make very sure your car is 150g or less in weight, as they will not be giving any grace at the Open; everyone MUST be at or under 150g or you will not be allowed to compete.

Workshop #2

Despite the poor weather we had today, our club night is on and we will also be hosting the second Grand Prix workshop here at the Church tomorrow, Saturday, Mar.3.  We will have tools set up and leaders available, so if you need some help making your car for the races, make your way down to the church.

We also have more car kits in stock now!  So if you missed buying a kit, they are now on sale again for $4 tonight and I will also have them here at the workshop tomorrow on Saturday, and next week at Awana (Mar.9th).  The races are on March 16th, so please don't delay.
